Yesterday SDOG filed a lawsuit against the City of San Diego for its illegal approval of Business Improvement District (BID) taxes for fiscal year 2015-16, and against the BID organizations for conflicts of interest. If the lawsuit is successful, the taxes will be invalidated and the BID organizations will have to repay all monies they receive from the City for BID purposes even if the monies have already been spent.

Thank you for pursuing these proliferating, and illegal, “district” taxation formulas…they spend all the money on their bureaucratic needs, some neo-event organizing that shuts down the street where you live and barely breaks even, or incessant, and needless, re-decoration of the public ways.. Maintenance districts are high maintenance !

Reading the minutes of these districts is very revealing.
But let us forgive them for their wasteful spending, and just adios them, or they will have to raise the local “assessment fee” to pay for their debt and legal fees…
